Meet Maya Brown, JD

Maya Brown regularly assists small business & startup clients in operational management and business development across the country, and has extensive experience in formulating strategy, improving performance, procuring material & resources and securing compliance. Maya also assists clients proactively on legal issues of corporate law & governance, patent law, data privacy and cybersecurity, and intellectual property (IP).

Prior to and while in law school, Maya has worked with firms such as King & Spalding, Alston & Bird and Virtus LLP with a primary focus on mergers & acquisitions (“M&A”), intellectual property (“IP”) and corporate/finance law. Amongst many other roles, she currently serves as Associate Counsel for a public tech company located in Atlanta. Maya has also operated her consulting firm, formally known as Werk’n Gal, geared towards helping minority and women-owned startups. Ms. Brown received her B.S. in Economics with a minor in International Business. She also received her Masters in Public Health.

Maya is actively involved with Junior League of Atlanta and Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN). Maya also serves as the Secretary of Mind Bubble, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving secondary students in the metro Atlanta area through free tutoring and enrichment opportunities.  Maya was a recipient of YNPN’s 30 under 30 in 2017 and selected as a civic fellow for Hands on Atlanta’s Civic Leadership Program in their 2018-2019 class.

In her free time — Maya enjoys volunteering, practicing yoga and pilates, participating in runs & races as an Atlanta Track Club member, playing her various instruments, dancing, traveling and spending time with her family.
